MAKASSAR A.P. PETTARANI ELEVATED TOLL ROAD
Makassar A.P. Pettarani Elevated Toll Road is the first elevated toll road in Makassar and a new icon in the eastern region of Indonesia. The elevated toll road was entirely constructed by WIKA Beton from product design, production of precast components to the implementation of construction work. The performance of WIKA Beton on this project is in line with the vision of WIKA Beton, to be a leading Company engaged in the business of providing Engineering, Production, Installation (EPI) in the Concrete Industry in Southeast Asia.

The elevated toll road with a length of 4.3 km
Makassar A.P. Pettarani Elevated Toll Road is the first elevated toll road in Makassar and a new icon in the eastern region of Indonesia. Makassar A.P. Pettarani Elevated Toll Road was stood on 129 Piers and was built with 3,044 segmental Box Girders
manufactured at South Sulawesi Concrete Product Plant (Pabrik Produk Beton Sulsel) in Kawasan Industri Makassar (KIMA) 20.

Double Launching Gantry to shorten the construction
To assemble the Box Girders in constructing the elevated toll road structure, WIKA Beton implemented an innovation on Box Girder installation by applying span by span method to shorten the construction time namely Double Box Girder Launching Gantry.

Completed 5.000.000 safe working time without any lost time injury
Despite implementing the installation innovation, the construction project surprisingly achieved 5.000.000 safe working time without any Lost Time Injury. This achievement represented WIKA Beton’s commitment to Health, Safety, and Environment aspects.

MONITOR ELEVATED TOLL ROAD’S HEALTH WITH SHMS
Besides building the superstructure of A.P. Pettarani, WIKA Beton also contributed to the monitoring of the elevated toll road’s health through the Wika Beton Structuctural Health Monitoring System (WTON SHMS) which was maiden applied in Indonesia. WTON SHMS enables toll road managers to continuously monitor the health condition of elevated structures.

IS NEW REFERENCE ON THE DESIGN AND FEASIBILITY OF THE CONSTRUCTION OF ELEVATED STRUCTURES OR BRIDGES IN INDONESIA IN THE FUTURE.
This first WIKA Beton construction project received recognition from the Ministry of Public Works and Housing to be a recent reference of a new reference on the design and feasibility of the construction of elevated structures or bridges in Indonesia in the future. This new reference was entrusted by :
1. Implementation of the Wika Beton Structural Health Monitoring System (WTON SHMS) starting from planning, loading tests, monitoring the condition of the structure, management to reporting the health condition of the elevated structure, and
2. Qualification of Box Girder concrete product with an external prestressed post-tension system which has previously been applied to other flyover projects, including Bogor Outer Ring Road I & II and Kualanamu-Medan Flyover Road.

Elevated Toll Road Pettarani represented infrastructure projects in Indonesia as the Second Mino Best Project Award Ceremony at an award event held every 4 years, namely the 16th Road Engineering for Asia and Australasia (REAA) Conference with the theme “Shaping the Future of Road Engineering with Advance Technology” in Manila on September 15, 2021.
This award was obtained based on a number of assessment considerations, including the application of Wika Beton Structural Health Monitoring System (WTON SHMS), the quality of the construction work, the installation method for the pier head work and the main work of the superstructure by Double Box Girder Lauching Gantry.

The elevated toll road with a length of 4.3 km
was built to break down city traffic flow that previously became a chronic traffic problem in Makassar and provide enjoyable mobility in Makassar City. This infrastructure was inaugurated on March 18, 2021 by the Ministry of Public Works and Housing Bapak Basuki Hadimuljono.
